A coastal tavern as stormy as the sea near which it sits, The Parrot and Aye is famous with seafarers for its mascot, a loud green parrot, the last in a long line of avian marketers.

Any sailor—or pirate—coming ashore would not have to look long for somewhere to rest their legs and lighten their purse. The tavern is conveniently positioned between the docks and the city proper, ensuring that nearly every crew passes its doors before finding anywhere else.

Crowds gather early as they sing old sea shanties with the Parrot squawking the chorus from its perch. After a loud night of rum and revelry, many lonely sailors have spoken their secrets to the Parrot, which is about as intelligent an idea as it sounds. They were not secrets for long.

This has meant that the owners of the tavern go through a great deal to keep the parrot safe, it makes them money in more ways than one. Rumor has it that if you listen closely, the parrot knows more about the city’s politics than the governor himself.
