Tavern Backstories: Knight’s Rest

The war was long and devastating. Victory came but at an immense cost. This left many knights returning home aimless, no land, titles or purpose. One such knight, laid down his armor and built a humble roadside tavern where warriors could finally rest without fear of battle.

He hung his worn shield above the fireplace and created the first rule of the tavern: any knight or soldier could stay the knight, as long as they shared a story from the road. SInce then many stories have been told, and many shields, halbers and weapons adorn the walls of the tavern. Walls filled with memories of past comrades, fallen in battle or lost to time.

It is said no blade is ever drawn in the Knight’s Rest, because each patron knows just how deadly their bar mates can be.
